Privacy Policy

Nightlife Map ("the app," "we," "us") helps you discover events happening around you and lets hosts create and manage their own events. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address and password, used to create and secure your account.
Profile information: display name, username, bio, and profile photo, if you choose to add them.
Location: your device's precise location, used only while the app is in use, to show nearby events and sort them by distance. We do not track your location in the background, and we do not sell or share your location with third parties.
Content you create: events you host, messages you send to other users, reports you submit, and photos you upload.
Payment information: if you purchase a ticket, payment is processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we retain only a record that a payment occurred, for receipts and support.
Usage and device information: basic technical information (such as device type and push notification token) needed to operate the app and deliver notifications you've opted into.

How we use your information

To operate core features: showing events near you, letting you RSVP or buy tickets, and enabling messaging between users.
To let event hosts manage their events and see who is attending.
To send you notifications you've opted into (for example, a reminder about an event you're going to).
To keep the platform safe, including reviewing reports of abuse and enforcing blocks between users.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

With Stripe, to process ticket payments.
With Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider, which stores app data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments.
With other users, to the extent you choose to share it, for example your display name and photo are visible to people you interact with, and event hosts can see the identity of people who RSVP to their events.
If required by law.

Your choices

Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete Account. This removes your personal information, disconnects your past activity from your identity, and cancels any upcoming events you're hosting with attendees notified and refunded. Some records, such as past payment and ticket records, are retained in de-identified form for legal and accounting purposes.
Location: you can deny or revoke location access at any time in your device settings; the app will continue to work, with distance-based features disabled.
Notifications: you can turn off push notifications at any time in your device settings or in-app notification preferences.
Blocking and reporting: you can block or report any user directly in the app.

Children

Nightlife Map is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
